The schedule map view plots all appointments for the day on an interactive map. It is designed for practices with clinicians traveling between patient locations — home health, mobile therapy, and multi-site practices.
Permissions: All staff can access the schedule map view. The View Only Own Facilities Schedules permission modifier restricts which facilities appear in the facilities dropdown on the map.

Open the Schedule Map

From the main schedule, select the map icon at the top of the screen. The map defaults to showing all appointments for all clinicians for the current day. Each clinician is assigned a color, and their appointment pins on the map reflect that color so you can distinguish routes at a glance.
  • Click and drag to pan the map.
  • Ctrl+scroll (Cmd+scroll on Mac) to zoom in and out.
  • Use the eye icons below the map to show or hide specific clinicians or specific days.

Appointment Timeline

Below the map, a timeline lists each clinician’s appointments for the day in order. The timeline shows the distance calculated between each consecutive appointment location. To schedule a new appointment directly from the map view, select the plus button at the end of a clinician’s timeline row.

Schedule Notes

Select the spyglass icon next to a clinician’s name to open their schedule notes for the day. Schedule notes include:
  • Total treatment time for the day
  • Total drive time and downtime
  • A fuel cost estimate based on the day’s mileage
  • Any flagged issues — for example, if the distance between two back-to-back appointments means the clinician may arrive late
  • A suggested route, if a more efficient sequence of visits is available for that day
The suggested route is a recommendation only. StrataEMR does not automatically reorder or optimize a clinician’s appointments. If a route suggestion appears, you can use it as a reference when manually adjusting the schedule.
